Six Airlines in Mainland to Carry the Weekend Charter Flights

According to the Minutes of Talks on Cross-Strait Weekend Charter Flights which signed by Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait (ARATS) and Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) on June 13 in Beijing, the Civil Aviation Administration of China published a distribution of the weekend charter flight program of Continental Airlines.

At the early stage of the weekend charter flights, the main carriers are still based on the 6 festival charter flights carriers, that is, Air China, China Eastern, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Xiamen Airlines and Shanghai Airlines. And the number of mainland carriers will be increased gradually and steadily according to market demand and increase in number of flights and opening up destinations.

The distribution at early stages of weekend charter flights is: Air China, China Eastern and China Southern Airlines have four weekly round-trip respectively; Hainan Airlines, Shanghai Airlines and Xiamen Airlines have two weekly round-trip respectively. Distribution plan also regulates that in principle Air China, Hainan Airlines depart from Beijing; Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines depart from Shanghai Pudong; China Southern Airlines departs from Guangzhou; Xiamen Airlines departs from Xiamen. There is no restriction for new routes depart from Nanjing.
