Shanghai Private Enterprises Became the Main Force of “Go Abroad” among Shanghai Enterprises

It was reported that private enterprises are growing rapidly and the main force of “go abroad” among Shanghai enterprises. In the first half of this year, Shanghai private enterprises have 42 external investment projects with investment of more than USD100m, accounting for 63.6% and 42% of Shanghai total external investment projects and investment from the same period.

Statistics indicated that in the first half of this year, among 11 Shanghai large external investment projects of more than USD9.5m, 7 were invested by Shanghai private enterprises, and 3 projects with total external investment of more than USD25m were all undertaken by private enterprises. In the first half of this year, the whole city newly approved 8 resource external investment projects, 6 of which are invested by private enterprises. Among them, the largest one is copper and nickel associated ore project with total investment of USD28.50m invested by some private enterprise in Africa.
